On the 8th May 2009, Sydney Grammar School, Edgecliff Preparatory School hosted the 2009 MS Readathon Launch. It was a fantastic morning with all of the school students in attendance as well as some special guests from other schools.

Stephen, Bosko, Sam, Ursula and Sandra all contributed to create a wonderful 2009 birthday party. Stephen Papadopoulos, a young man living with MS showed an MRI to educate the students on what MS looks like on the inside. Bosko hung out with all the students, high-fiving and jumping his way through the proceedings. Sam McKay, the top fundraiser from 2008, was interviewed by the incredible Sandra Sully. Top author, Ursula Dubosarsky entertained all the students reading from her latest novel “The Terrible Plop”.

It was a fun-filled event and all of these wonderful people and Bosko, contributed to make it a memorable occasion for all of the students of the Sydney Grammar School, Edgecliff Preparatory School. What a great way to celebrate 30 years of reading to help people with MS!

Margate Primary School, TAS
Margate Primary School

Margate Primary raised $4,520 in 2008 from 31 children completing the program. Stacey recently visited the school to tell them about the 2009 MS Readathon and was really impressed with how enthusiastic the children were about participating. They listened beautifully and were a real joy to visit. Hopefully 2009 will once more see Margate Primary be a great supporter of the MS Readathon.

Georgia Short

Georgia was a fantastic help at the MS Readathon stand at the ACT Lifeline Bookfair. Georgia and her grandfather, Ron, gave up their Saturday to give information about the MS Readathon to interested children and parents. Georgia is an expert on the program having participated in the MS Readathon for the past six years. She has raised over $1,400! Well done Georgia and thanks so much for your support. What a star!
