Hero of the week

December Heroes

Harry Wilsdon, TAS
Harry Wilsdon

This year, at age 69, Harry Wilsdon participated in his first ever MS Readathon… which just goes to show you are never too old to try something new or to have a go at something!

Harry decided to participate because it is something he has always wanted to do and he wanted to show that it’s not only for children.

Harry says the best part about participating was knowing that he’s helping people who are living with MS and raising funds to find a cure. He said it was

fantastic to see how many people got behind him and sponsored him.

Harry raised a massive $2318! He hopes that his involvement this year will inspire other adults to get involved – and he’s challenging EVERYONE to get their parents and grandparents into reading to help people with MS.

You’re an inspiration to us, Harry! Thank you for your wonderful efforts.

Brianna Servos, QLD
Brianna Servos

Brianna Servos (of Samford Valley) has once again proved herself to be a MS Readathon champion! For the second year in a row, Brianna is one of Queensland highest fundraisers, this year raising an amazing $5100!

Her favourite books are Harry Potter and the Twilight series. Brianna’s advice is to “get in and do it, because it’s not only helping other people, but it’s also helping yourself with all the reading”.

Future MS Readathon participants take note, Brianna’s top fundraising tip is to “be prepared, take sponsorship forms and receipt books wherever you go and don't be afraid to ask people for their support”.
