Belinda Gaskin (State Coordinator – ACT)

Belinda Gaskin

This is Belinda’s second year coordinating the MS Readathon in the ACT and parts of regional NSW including the Riverina, South-East and South-West.

Belinda has held a variety of marketing and communication positions in Canberra, Sydney and Perth. These roles have equipped her for this busy and demanding role.

As the Coordinator of the ACT region, Belinda says every day is different. As the only person working on the MS Readathon in this region Belinda relies on the support of wonderful volunteers during the busiest times of the program. She loves the region and enjoys talking to teachers, parents and kids and being part of the ACT office at Deakin.

Maxine is looking forward to working with the amazing and talented volunteers and ambassadors who tirelessly give of themselves to support such a wonderful program.

Outside of work, Maxine enjoys catching up with friends, reading a good book, watching a good film and taking the occasional road trip.

Debbie Adams (State Manager – South Australia and the Northern Territory)

Debbie Adams

Debbie is our longest serving staff member, having worked with the MS Readathon program now for more than 11 years! After all this time, she says there’s always something new happening, and she enjoys the relationships she’s built with schools, teachers, and families over the years.

The SA & NT MS Readathon operates from MS Society of SA & NT office in Klemzig (Greenacres in March). Debbie enjoys being a part of the MS Society and working with local staff, volunteers and clients. Debbie also looks forward to visiting Darwin & Alice Springs yearly to catch up with supporters of the program.

Queensland Team Members

Tamara Smith (State Manager – Queensland)

Tamara Smith

Tamara has been with the MS Readathon since November 2008, after graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Communication, and a major in Public Relations. Tamara manages the Queensland MS Readathon from the MS Society of Queensland’s office in Dutton Park. She enjoys working with the wonderful MS Queensland team, and they certainly love it when Bosko comes to visit! Her favourite aspect of the job is meeting all the amazing MS Readathon volunteers; as it is a privilege to work with such an inspiring group of people.

When not working with the MS Readathon, Tamara enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her dog Chloe, and trips to the beach!

Tasmania Team Member

Stacey King (State Coordinator – Tasmania)

Stacey King

Stacey joined the MS Readathon team in February 2009. She graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2005 with a Bachelor of Teaching and then worked as a relief teacher and child carer before jetting off to explore the world.

The Tasmanian MS Readathon operates out of the MS Society of Tasmania’s office in Sandy Bay. Stacey really enjoys working with the MS TAS staff as they are a small but extremely dedicated, caring and friendly team. Her favourite aspect of the job is getting to see how the money that participants raise in the MS Readathon helps the MS Society of TAS to support its wonderful clients.

Outside of the MS Readathon, Stacey loves to play basketball, travel, read, spend time with her two beautiful nephews, socialise with friends and listen to live music.

Victoria Team Members

Kate Wade (State Manager – Victoria)

Kate Wade

Kate joined the team in 2008 after having worked for the MS Readathon team in administration. The Victorian MS Readathon operates out of The Nerve Centre in Blackburn.

Kate loves meeting new participants every year and hearing about the great fundraising ideas they all have!

Outside of the MS Readathon Kate has two beautiful daughters, who she loves spending time with and playing with! Kate also enjoys basketball and going to the gym every chance she gets.

Tina Price (Office Administrator – Victoria)

Tina Price

Tina was a volunteer at the MS Society before joining the MS Readathon team in a part-time role in 2008. Supporting Kate, Tina is a passionate advocate of the MS Readathon program. She knows only too well how essential the program is to raising funds for people with MS, after she was diagnosed with MS herself in 2002.

Away from the busy office, Tina enjoys quiet times she has with her husband and two daughters and finding a bargain at nearby factory outlets!

Jessica West (Office Administrator - Victoria)
Jessica

Jessica joined the MS Readathon team early in 2009 as the Victorian Office Administrator, assisting Kate. Jessica also shares her role with Tina Price. Jess enjoys the busy times of year and has been told numerous times by Kate that she is ‘too efficient’!

Over the last few years Jess has travelled to the UK, USA, Europe, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Dubai and New Zealand and plans to eventually visit Africa, South America and Asia!

Western Australia Team Members

Jasmyn Hutin (State Manager – Western Australia)

Jasmyn Chard-Walker

Jasmyn joined the MS Readathon team in May 2008 and previously worked at an International School in Norway, where she developed literacy programs for students with learning difficulties. She greatly enjoyed the experience of watching children gain confidence along with their reading skills.

After completing a Bachelor of Arts (English and Linguistics), she decided she wanted to work in the not-for-profit sector and help people with disabilities. Jasmyn’s role enables her to share her passion for books with children, while also helping to raise crucial funds for MS Australia.

In WA, the MS Readathon office is located at the MS Society of Western Australia’s main building in Wilson, where hundreds of MS Society members come to receive various services, including counselling, physiotherapy and information seminars. Talking to people with MS every day and hearing their stories gives Jasmyn a great sense of purpose in her every day work.
