MS Readathon National Team

Jen Irvine (National Manager)

Jen Irvine

Jen was appointed to her role in 2007. She says working for the MS Readathon is her most rewarding job to date, and combines her love of books with working with children, and helping those less fortunate. Jen’s favourite author is Roald Dahl (still!), but she loves mysteries and thrillers, as well as inspirational true stories.

In her spare time, Jen is a fitness fanatic, loves to play the piano, and revels in being the resident Pac-Man champion in her house.

Jenny Saibu (National Manager Assistant)
Jenny Saibu

Jenny has been a part of the MS Readathon team since April 2008. One of Jenny’s favourite tasks is to sit down with Bosko and help him answer the many, MANY emails he receives!

Based in Western Australia Jenny makes frequent visits to the MSWA offices and loves to chat with the many members and volunteers.

Jenny loves to cook, lasagne being a specialty, and spending time with family and friends. Although she is the champion at checkers in her house, she doesn’t think she’ll ever beat her son at Wii Sports… and she’s not even game to compete against her daughter at Sing Star!

Gill Law (Operations Manager)

Gill Law

Gill joined the MS Readathon team late in 2005, after 12 years working in both the UK and Victorian prison system. During this time Gill held the role of Operations and Education Manager in the Melbourne Detention Centre and greatly enjoyed providing education to the children and adults within the centre, providing them with skills to enhance their lives in Australia.

When she’s not knee-deep in rewards and mail, Gill enjoys spending time with her family which includes four gorgeous step-children and long walks with her husband and their two 4-legged children Scampus Maximus and Ebony Rose and tending her 100+ rose garden.

Djohan Kurniawan (Web Administrator)

Djohan Kurniawan

Djohan (Han) started off as a volunteer at MS Society for a few months, and then joined the MS Readathon team when a position became available.

With a brand new website for the MS Readathon in 2009, Djohan has worked tirelessly to make sure everything runs smoothly! Of course, the website constantly needs updating, so Djohan’s work never stops! Djohan’s favourite website is (of course!) the MS Readathon website, and he’s always looking for things to make it more exciting for all our visitors!

Djohan is multi-lingual, and reckons that he will take on just about any challenge if he thinks it will help the MS Readathon!

Blaine Wang (Database Administrator)

Blaine Wang

Blaine reports to the Operations Manager. He is responsible for maintaining the Readathon database and delivering reports to team members. He also communicates with the mail house regarding data entry and provides data for the mail outs, as well as dealing with payments, rewards or other database issues.

Blaine started with MS Readathon mid-2008 and he is based in the Blackburn office in Melbourne.

Most of his spare time is spent playing with his daughter. Blaine is also very good at cooking Chinese cuisines (well actually - his wife is).

Indrani Sen (National Project Assistant)

Indrani Sen

Indrani commenced her MS Readathon experience as the ACT Coordinator in February 2008. One year later, Indrani moved to Victoria, and joined the national team in Melbourne as Project Assistant. Indrani is now enjoying the new challenges of working across various projects during the course of the program.

The Victorian MS Readathon team operates out of the Nerve Centre in Blackburn. Indrani really enjoys working with the MS VIC staff who are a dedicated, caring and friendly team. Outside the MS Readathon, Indrani enjoys the company of her friends, music, reading, travelling and movies.

Simone Lim (Office Administrator)

Simone Lim

Simone joined the MS Readathon team in January 2007 after returning home from 6 years living overseas. Based in the Victorian office in Blackburn as an assistant to the National Operations Manager, Simone’s role is varied and includes communications, administration and providing support to the busy managers. The highlight of the position for her is working with the great team of people around Australia.

Simone spends her spare time ice skating, scuba diving and performing in amateur theatre as well as being a chauffeur for her three teenage boys.
